Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

EFT is  a  cutting edge form of acupressure that consists of  addressing points on the upper body while focusing on  an issue of concern.  Its unprecedented capability  to  eliminate  previously  incurable phobias was discovered in the late 1980s by a clinical psychologist who named it Thought Field Therapy and went on to demonstrate its broader usefulness.  In the early 1990s it was greatly simplified and made more widely available by Gary Craig, an engineer turned minister who was awestruck by its power.  Since that time numerous alternative systems have been developed under the generic rubric “Energy Psychology,” but Gary Craig’s Emotional Freedom Techniques modality  remains at the forefront.

‘Acupoints’ are strategic surface locations in the pathways traveled by the body’s electrical energy; they were discovered thousands of years ago and are the focus of both acupuncture and acupressure.  What is groundbreaking about EFT is that pressure on these points simultaneously with mental focus on an ailment has extraordinary power in healing the ailment, whether physical, emotional, or behavioral.

A core presupposition of EFT is that each of our ailments is accompanied by a disruption in the body’s electromagnetic energy flow;  correcting that disruption via acupoint pressure is believed to activate electrical impulses that normalize brain wave patterns associated with an ailment.  For example, if a person has a snake phobia, merely thinking of snakes will activate an energy disturbance; healing the phobia with EFT entails correcting that disruption, and related brain wave distortions, by means of  simultaneous acupressure and mental focus on snakes.

An experienced and artful practitioner is able to adapt the basic EFT tapping formula to treat problems far more complicated than a simple phobia. EFT is  applicable to and effective with a staggering array of issues and concerns.

*One should always also consult a medical doctor or a veterinarian on all medical issues.

Someday the medical professions will wake up and realize that unresolved emotional issues are the main  cause of  80% of  all illnesses.  When they do, EFT will be one of their primary healing tools... as it is for me.
Eric Robins, M.D.

I think the EFT tapping technique is amazing.  Before EFT with Judy I had been bothered by a back injury for over 20 years.  Conventional medicine had little to offer other than pain medication and major surgery. The problem had escalated over the years to the point where riding was painful and distracting (I trained horses for a living so being distracted by pain increased the level of danger every time I got on a horse).  After Judy did one remote session surrogately, we spent some time over the phone and I was amazed at the immediate pain relief . More important, I was amazed at the emotional issues Judy was able to tap into that I wasn't even aware could be the root cause of all that pain. Once we identified and tapped on those issues, and I did follow-up EFT with them on my own, I remained free of pain. I would suggest working with Judy to find and address any emotional issues you are carrying. This is especially important if you decide to take a conventional medicine approach to your physical ailments, because having peace of mind, inner peace and a positive state of mind can only aid in  assisting the healing process.  I would strongly recommend Judith Young. You are invited to contact me via e-mail at BRMP@AOL.com if you have any questions.

For those, such as myself, who have never been introduced to alternative healing methods, I strongly encourage you to seek out Judy Young.  She will show you the way to a new and exciting path in life.   After diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer,  I attended her EFT workshop to learn EFT for obtaining clarity in my decision-making regarding continuing with chemo.  After the class I started using EFT on my cancer itself, and it disappeared with its use!
